Last week, something happened on my P1i. The programmable key at the right of the phone was set to Main Menu (meaning, when you press that button, the Main Menu is displayed; default is Web browser for this button), and while I was taking some camera shots, I accidentally pressed on that button. What happened?
The menu did appear. In landscape mode.
I regret not installing a screen shot app for the phone. I cannot replicate it now, though the fact that it did happen means it can be replicated somehow. The menu was in grid mode, and the Back icon was on the bottom of the screen (since it was in landscape mode, bottom is the left edge of the screen). The Status bar and the soft keys were not visible. But when I get back to standby mode, the screen was restored to the usual portrait orientation. Going to the main menu, the screen shifted to landscape again.
When I restarted the phone, the main menu is in the usual portrait orientation.
Has anyone experienced the same?
Hi,
I have the same problem on my P1i. I have tried to restart the phone several times, go through the menu.. yet I still get my menu in landscape orientation. I can’t seem to get it back to NORMAL portrait menu. Have you got any ideas how to get it back??
Hi, Aneesh, I really wanted to replicate that issue he he.
Anyway, have you tried doing a firmware update?
i had the same problem here. i switched the phone off and on again and it was gone.
i guess it must have something to do with the programmable key (where i have configured the applications menu) and or the camera.
i can not reproduce it eitherr but i think i was deep in some menu and realy needed to go back to the top and furiosly pressed the back key (the one on the left side) and probably also hit some of the keys on the right side at the same time.
Now i can reproduce the landscape mode:
– on the overview screen
– pres back key (the one below the click wheel) several times until nothing is selected anymore
– press and hold the clickwheel
– press the back key
et voilĂ : you are in the landscape mode
– most of the applications do not support that mode and switch back (which results in a white screen for a fraction of a second)
– however some applications (filemanager) work in landscape.
maybe this is a X1 feature…
