Dick Gordon for President?

It seems that Richard Gordon is angling for the 2010 presidential elections.

Have you seen his political advertisement? In case you don’t, he highlights the fact that he authored the Fair Elections Act of 2007, and lambasted Senators Aquilino Pimentel and Serge Osmeña for delaying the passage of the said law.

Sorry, Dick. I won’t vote for you (if you will run in 2010).

Aside from premature campaigning (and that goes the same to you, Mar Roxas), your advertisement leaves a bad taste to the mouth. And it sounds eerily similar to the “Gago ang oposisyon” ad made by Heaven knows who.

Second, the implementation of your pet law does not necessarily mean that cheating will be eliminated. On the contrary, all a determined cheater will do is to look at holes in whatever system that will be implemented, and exploit that hole to his advantage (and we have talent who can do those things).

Third, elections being a system, concentrating on automations per se is wrong. People is part of the system, and it is the weakest link in the system.

You are very much qualified, yes. But this advertisement is below the belt, foul, cheap, and handiwork of a trapo. Sorry. Your ad doesn’t work.

  1. If Gordon’s performance as Tourism secretary is any indication of what he will be when he becomes president, we are in for a very bumpy ride.

Time for Arbet to launch a Stop Gordon Drive.

“Cut off the Dick” is my proposed rallying call.

  2. I did not know, not until now, that it was gordon’s advertisement. Ya, it was kinda below the belt and unbecoming of a senator like him.

He will not win the presidency if that is the kind of message he wants to convey to the public.

  3. Gordon who???

Ang lakas naman ng apog nito! Does he really believe that he has a chance? BBS!

  4. Whoa, Sir MB! Me? Why me?

    (CuttheDick.com, StopDick.com… possibilities, possibilities…)

Hi, Atty. Erwin, yeah, he’s quite disappointing.

Hi, Mam Chi, that’s the purpose of the ad, to see if he has a “market”.

Hi, Benj, that’s funny. Scary, too.

Hi, Josh, mind your manners ha ha ha.

  5. Josh is right, he cannot use pussy as the fake one is no pushover.

Ano ba ang contribution in Gordon? He exploited the people of ‘Gapo to make himself look POGI. He sat on the bill and waited for the last moment to push for it. Oo nga naman, he can now blame whoever he wants for the late approval. ComelecAko even lambasted him for the delay. He sat on it for more than a year tapos kung sino-sino ang sisisihin.

Sino kaya ang may-ari ng isang hotel sa Subic? Who started the biggest automotive smuggling in the area? May sagot ka na ba?

  6. Hi, Kneeko, the same here.

Schumey, do I need to state my guess? =P So siya rin pala cause of delay. In bad taste na yung ad, dishonest pa!

  7. Schumey, you’re dead wrong about Dick Gordon on three counts…

    1. The Fair Elections Act or the amended Automated Elections bill was delayed by three senators, one of them was Mar Roxas, who refused to attend one of the more crucial hearings. Gordon has consistently worked on the bill for two years and had wrestled with roadblocks through out the process.

    2. The people of Olongapo were not exploited.

    3. As for smuggling in Subic Bay, can you at least cite one case filed against Dick Gordon for smuggling?

I mean, let’s be fair if we can’t be accurate. Okay?
