Total Eclipse of the Sun

Last week, I applied for a Sun Cellular line. Today I received a text message from a Sun representative telling me that my proof of income is “insufficient“, that I need to submit more proof. I told the representative, via text, to cancel my application.

Geesh. I should have called instead of replying via SMS. Heck, they were decent enough to reject my application by euphemistic language, and via SMS for that matter. I’ll stick to my almost 4-year Smart line (and I shove that to your ass, sucky Sun).

And that also means one thing: sorry, ex, no unlimited texting between you and me. Maybe we are not really meant for each other.

The weekend was, as usual, stay-at-home.

Six Facts

Oh no, not again. From Ken. And I won’t be tagging anyone anymore, I’ve had enough for today.

Six Random Facts About Meself:

1. I don’t like wearing jeans. I only have two pairs, and the last time I wore one, it was two months ago. And I don’t have any intention (in the short term) of buying another pair.

2. If I was not a computer science graduate, I would be a psychologist right now, concentrating on counselling teenagers and young adults. But that is now just a dream.

3. It takes me almost 30 minutes to take a bath – 20 minutes spent on thinking and 10 minutes on bathing.

4. One of my biggest dreams is to see the Philippines host the Olympics within my lifetime. But that is impossible, given the infrastructure in this country. We are the only country in Southeast Asia, save for Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, who doesn’t have a stadium that can seat 30000 people.

5. I had appeared in TV once, for about 10 seconds, in an episode of Mel and Jay. It was ages ago, I can’t remember when it was shown, and when it was shot. All I can remember is that it was a Lenten (or was it Easter) episode. The camera panned to the audience, and settled at me for a few seconds. My only claim to TV fame, ever.

6. Don’t make me choose between Star Trek and Star Wars. I am a Trekkie, so beat it.

If you like this meme, here are the instructions (and consider yourself tagged, suit yourself):

Once tagged by this entry, write a blog entry of some kind with six random facts about yourself. In the end of it, pick six of your friends and tag them! (No tag backs). This explanation must be included, of course.

Epilogue

(Edited version)

A proud owner of a Canon A620, a lover of the arts, a budding photographer – don’t be fooled by Kat‘s cool demeanor. She has an incisive and inquisitive mind, asks a lot of questions, and wants to know the reason why this is this and that is that. Now a shift lead herself, the shift where she is now leads in the number of virus report rejections due to her formidable analytical skill.

Spiritual, enthusiastic passionate, creative – Jovi probably will be proclaimed a martyr soon enough, for her dedication to the job, most of the time even beyond the call of duty. Her love of writing and of anything Japanese drives her to excel in whatever she does, which is not a bad thing. Too bad not everyone sees that.

Emotional, short-tempered, boring, snobbish – that’s Arbet for you. Shift lead for just a month and a half, he has managed to capture his shiftmates’ love and respect. Blame it all on his being trustworthy, honest, and idealistic. Arbet enjoys playing PS2 on his spare time, and likes to pour his heart out on his personal blog.

Sadly, July, which have been fun-filled and very memorable, is their last shift together as Arbet will be moving on to another place.

This piece is dedicated to my very first shiftmates, who had moved on – Jan,
Dione, and Glenn. And to Jovi, too.

At UP Diliman

Live blogging from Computational Science Research Center, University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. Attending C# training.

Many among the participants were late, due to the remoteness of the site. Goes to show that IT is relatively new to the UP System. Dean, is there a Bocobo Hall in UP? Or is just me?
